Contest Rules and Terms
The Rules
The contest will run from May 5th 2007 (12pm ET) until 7/5/2007 at 12:00 PM
Contestants must be registered members of UGResearch.org. Membership is free.
Contestants will receive 1 point for every person that activates a membership (including their own) on UGResearch.org at the contestant’s recommendation. Again, membership is free. To receive a point, the recommended person must correctly specify that the contestant recommended they join the site.
Contestants will receive 10 points for every person who uploads research (including their own) on UGResearch.org at the contestant’s recommendation. Uploading research is free. To receive the points, the recommended person must correctly specify that the contestant recommended they upload their research. The recommended person may upload as many pieces of research as they want; the contestant will receive 10 points for each piece of research uploaded in which they are identified. The uploading of research is subject to the approval of the UGResearch.org team.
The contestant with the most points will receive a free iPod.
If the winning contestant does not receive a minimum of 400 points by the end of the competition, the competition will be void, and no iPod will be given.
New members and those uploading research can only select one contestant as having recommended them.
Contestants must have been enrolled in a degree granting undergraduate institution at some time.
In the case of a tie for first place, the contest will enter a "Sudden Death" phase. The contestants in the tie will have 24 hours to accumulate as many points as possible. At the end of the 24 hours the contestant with the most points will be declared the winner. If there is still a tie, contestants in the tie will have another 24 hours to accumulate points. This will repeat itself until a sole point leader emerges.
